Tom Millea is one of the true masters of figure photography and
portraiture. His work has been featured in many photography magazines
and resides at many prestigious museums including The National Gallery
of American Art Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. For many years
Tom worked exclusively with the Platinum Palladium process and his
resulting catalog of photographs is spectacular. He creates s as
landscapes and objects similar to Lucien Clergue and Ruth Bernhard but
in his own unique manner. His macro work is very fetishistic and he
excels at it whether it's a face breast, side, bottom or whatever. There
is an obvious difference between viewing a series of 35mm slides and
looking at a single photograph. The slides provide a progression and are
a window into the mind. Tom announced on May 22 2006 that he quit
processing platinum photographs because of associated health risks and
high material costs.
Carrie is probably Tom's best known model and has a cult following. She
is extremely beautiful and unique looking. In the series of scans near
the bottom of th page, Carrie sports beautifully done hair and no
make-up and it works. The whole collection consists of about 1,000 35mm
slides and interested parties may
