Diane Webber

Diane Webber was born Marguerite Diane Empey on Jul. 29 1932 to Marguerite (née Andrus) and screen writer Arthur Guy Empey in Los Angeles CA. She formally trained as a ballet dancer and worked as a chorus girl. Diane was a centerfold for PlayBoy twice; once in May 1955 then Feb. 1956. The 1956 layout was photographed by The great Russ Meyer. She married Joe Webber in 1961. She was very much interested in Naturism and was featured in many nudist magazines. Lucky for us, she was one of the first high profile modern Naturists and loved posing in front of the camera. Diane Webber was photographed by Bunny Yeager, possibly by Andre De Dienes and extensively by Erwin (or Edward) Lange. She was also photographed at the mysterious Spider Pool. Diane Webber passed away on Aug. 19 2008 in Los Angeles. I was sorry to hear about her passing and consider her one of the greatest figure models of all time.

A friend of Diane Webor contacted me on May 14 2009 to correct her birthday and fill me in on some details of Diane's life!

Diane Webber started out as a ballet dancer and worked as a chorus girl in San Francisco when she was 18 to 20. She started modeling when she was 19. She was married in 1955 and had a child in 1956. She hurt her knee at one point and couldn't ballet dance any more, she saw a belly dancer and decided she could do that style of dancing. She learned some time in the early 1960's. Diane Webber danced at the California Renassaince Faire and founded the "Perfumes of Araby" dance troop in 1969. She disbanded the troop in 1979, was divorced in 1986, took classes in animal husbandry and fulfilled her life long ambition to own horses. She had two, a Lipitzan and an Abarian.
